I want to submit my dental images - but are they good enough?

In our last blog, we made the big announcement that Dental Stock Photos is looking to grow its library of quality and authentic dental images with photographs from contributors across Australia with dental industry experience.

So if you work in the dental industry and enjoy taking photos, why not send us your photos for submission. We understand you might not be sure if the images are professional enough, but what have you got to lose?

 We’re looking for more ‘before and after’ images of:

• Smile Makeovers
• Braces
• Crowns
• Implants
• Other dental related procedures 
• And, flat lays of anything dental.

Take a look at our current library to get a feel for the images our clients are using every day for their online and offline marketing and print media. And don’t forget, commission is paid to you for every image license sold.

Still on the fence? Here are some of the top tips we can share to help you with your submission:

• Incorporate taking photos as part of your treatment process – the more photos you take, the more you will improve.
• Experiment with lighting and use a plain background – sometimes dental clinic lights can be just too harsh and often backgrounds are cluttered. Keep experimenting to get the most from your photos.
• Take close-ups as well as full-face images – if you can get a variety of images from each procedure, there will be better opportunity for a photo to be accepted for submission. Also remember to take ‘side images’ of TMJ joints ;)
• ALWAYS get permission from your patient allowing you to post photos for media use. Some patients may be happy with close-ups but not full face.  Patients will need to sign a model release form (which we can provide and assist with) to add the image to our library.

One more thing – don’t put too much pressure on yourself to get the ‘perfect’ photo.  Take lots of before, during and after images and we’ll sort through them to see if they are suitable.  Those that we do accept will become part of our ever-growing library of authentic dental clinic images.
